Please see below for an outline of what you can expect during our time together on this trip. Please note that the itinerary is subject to change, but we will keep you apprised of any changes in a timely manner. Keep an eye on your email for more details to be revealed!
*RIMAN North America will be booking flights for qualifiers from Gimpo International Airport (GMP) to Jeju Airport (CJU) on October 17,2023 and the return flights from CJU to GMP on October 20, 2023. All flights outside of these flights are the responsibility of the qualifier. For example, if you are flying to Seoul from the United States, you are responsible for booking, and covering the cost of, your arrival and departure flights into Seoul. You will be reimbursed up to the amount of airfare reimbursement you earned upon turning in your airfare receipt as outlined in the process found in the FAQs below.
Should you wish to take alternative flights to Jeju Island than the ones selected to be booked by RIMAN North America, you will be responsible for booking and covering the cost of said flights and any necessary airport transportation. RIMAN North America will book the GMP to CJU flights for qualifiers after the RSVP period closes, and qualifiers will be notified of their flight information accordingly.
The GMP to CJU flight on October 17, 2023 will be an early morning flight, with a departure before 8 a.m., and the CJU to GMP flight on October 20, 2023 will be a morning flight with an early afternoon arrival into Gimpo airport.
All trip qualifiers are required to RSVP by August 16th to confirm their attendance on the trip. Qualifiers who do not provide all the requested information and RSVP in full by this date will forfeit their earnings. Please also be sure to review the RIMAN Retreats policy document in detail here for other important information. By completing your RSVP, you are agreeing to abide by these policies.
1. What documents do I need to travel to South Korea?
Good news! There is very little documentation needed outside of a valid passport.
Please be sure to have a passport that is valid for at least 6 months from the departure date (October 20, 2023) and has at least 2 blank pages.
Note: US & Canadian citizens do not need a visa to travel to South Korea for touristic visits under 90 days and 180 days, respectively.
US citizens are not required to fill out the K-ETA (Korean Electronic Travel Authorization). This form is also optional for Canadian citizens, however, if they choose to fill it out, they will not have to complete an Arrival Card upon arrival.
Anyone traveling to South Korea should be prepared to show proof of onward travel and hotel information upon arrival, so please have your complete travel arrangements available to you.
2. Should I get Travel Insurance?
While Travel Insurance is not a requirement to visit South Korea, we recommend securing a travel insurance policy to protect your person and belongings during your trip.
Note: RIMAN North America is not liable for any damage to an qualifier’s person or belongings at any point during the trip, or during their travel to their end destinations. Any policies procured, or agreements made between an qualifier and an insurance company, are the responsibility of the qualifier.
3. Where will I be staying in Seoul on Day 1?
RIMAN North America will be making hotel arrangements for our entire group for the night of October 16th in Seoul. We will share updates on the chosen property soon, but rest assured, we’ll have you staying in style!
4. How do I collect my airfare reimbursement?
After booking your airfare, you will have until October 9th to send your airfare receipt to Retreats@RIMAN.com, and you will be reimbursed up to the total amount earned. Reimbursements will be granted by November 20, 2023. For example, if you earned a $1000 airfare credit, and your flight was $950, you will receive $950 in your eWallet by November 20, 2023.
5. Will airport transportation be provided to me?
Of course – we want to take care of you from wheels up to wheels down! We will be arranging airport transfers on arrival day (October 16, 2023) to the Seoul hotel or other event venue for all qualifiers flying into Seoul Incheon Airport (ICN) or Gimpo International Airport (GMP). If you choose to arrive earlier than October 16, 2023, or stay later than October 20, 2023, you will be responsible for arranging your own airport transportation.
For those flying out of ICN on October 20th, airport transportation will be provided from GMP to ICN.
Please ensure you provide accurate flight information when filling out the RSVP system, as it will be used to arrange your transportation. Closer to the trip, we will provide you with instructions as to how to find your transfer upon arrival.
6. What type of transportation will be provided for my airport transfers?
We will be providing group transportation based on qualifier arrival times through a local transportation company. All transfers to trip functions will be group transfers.
7. Will meals be provided?
Yes, all meals will be provided, either in a group setting, or in the form of meal vouchers. More details will be provided in the future.
